Last week we saw an update of the April housing market for Chesapeake. Today I’m bringing you info about Virginia Beach. You’ll find the Market Minutes in detail below, but for quick highlights, check this out:
While April 2014 showed an increase in the number of homes sold compared to March 2014, that number decreased when compared to April 2013. This decrease could be attributed to fewer distressed properties on the market today.
Median Housing Price:
Compared to April 2013, last month VA Beach saw an increase of 8% in the median sale price of homes. The median sale price in April of 2013 was $224,950, while last month it was $242,000. That 8% increase equates to an average of $17,050 more that sellers were able to sell their homes for this year. In addition, the median sale price for last month was 5% higher than of March of this year. Things are moving along.
Days on the Market:
This April, houses stayed on the market an average of 66 days compared to last April’s higher number of 72 days. That’s a decrease of 8%. Things are looking up for sellers!
